VISION

The gift of faith lived and shared in love for Him by all especially the peoples of Asia.

CHARISM

In love and gratitude to the Father, ours is a joyful missionary spirit flowing from the deep union with Christ through Mary and in the power of the Holy Spirit willing to spend and be spent in sharing His Gospel to all.

MISSION SOCIETY OF THE PHILIPPINES

The Mission Society of the Philippines was established by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) in 1965 in commemoration of the 400 years of Christianity in the country, and thus, the MSP recognizes the Philippine hierarchy as its legitimate founder. On March 26, 1978, it was erected as a new Society of Apostolic Life for mission ad gentes, through a decree issued by His Eminence Julio Cardinal Rosales, the then Archbishop of Cebu. On January 6, 2009, it was recognized as a Society of Apostolic Life for mission ad gentes of Pontifical Right through a decree issued by His Eminence Ivan Cardinal Dias, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples.

The MSP is a Clerical Missionary Society of Apostolic Life of Pontifical Right for mission ad gentes, composed of Filipino Missionary Priests in response to a special call and by mandate of the Church. These missionaries consecrate themselves with a promise of being an active missionary, living in fraternal communion and in obedience to the Moderator, according to the Universal Law of the Catholic Church and the Statutes and Directory of the Mission Society of the Philippines.
